While it’s extremely hard for any doctor but Selena‘s to make a diagnosis, Hollywoodlife.com spoke to top NYC neurologist, Dr. Dexter Sun, at NY Presbyterian Hospital/ Cornell Weill Medical College, about what could possibly be wrong with the 18-year-old. Based on the reported symptoms, there are three possibilities, says Dr. Sun. “If Selena is suffering from high blood pressure, it could be triggered by persistent stress, but that is unusual but not unheard of in an 18-year-old,” he explains.

The family, friends and all of America received wonderful news just a few minutes ago when Dr.Peter Rhee, who is treating Congresswoman Giffords, at the University of Arizona Medical Center, told reporters that she was “100 percent likely to survive”. However, he still remains uncertain as to whether she will have a 100 per cent recovery of all her skills.

What are the problems she could face? “It will depend on whether the bullet went through any critical areas on the left side of her brain, the language center or the area that controls movement on the right side of the body,” explains Dr. Dexter Sun, a neurologist at New York Presbyterian Hospital/Cornell University Weill Medical College.” If the bullet didn’t hit these areas then the effect could be minimal. But even if the bullet hit her language center, it will be difficult to asses until she’s no longer sedated or inubated using a breathing tube. She can’t undergo tests until then“, says Dr.Dexter.

Bret Michaels has been rushed to an LA hospital with a massive subarachnoid hemorrhage - which is bleeding in the brain and apparently Michaels' publicist has confirmed to ABC News.com that there is bleeding at the base of his brain stem.

So I went to my doctor, had an MRI and the next morning I went to the neurologist, Dr. Sun - a Chinese guy, very funny guy. He says, "The good news is, you're here, you're looking good. The bad news is, you've got an aneurysm in your brain. You've had it for a hundred years, so it's nothing to worry about - but it's very serious, so we'll have to get rid of it right away." He's a funny guy.
